About us

As a band, Wilburnsilver are hard to define. The sum of the musical parts does not equate to a pack which fits neatly into a prescribed category or genre, and neither do the sounds this musical collective produces.
A result of the fairly eclectic mix of musical backgrounds, Wilburnsilver produce a distinctive noise of equally eclectic proportions. With regular appearances from folk induced fiddle pieces, hauntingly stunning backing vocals and a mix of blues and jazz brass accompaniments, its hard to pigeon hole this outfit.
The recurring undertone for all that Wilburnsilver produce induces a process whereby songs are deliberately made from different moulds; each song containing a unique characteristic which makes that song different, progressive and individual in its own right.
Drawing on a wide range of influences from the renaissance periods of 50's blues and rock n' roll, Wilburnsilver aim to remain rooted to sounds and values where music changes, evolves and brings raw energy and inspiration one would hear in the great artistry of Elvis Presley, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin and Otis Reading, to name a few. Present company is never excluded with the revolutionary sounds of Paul Weller, Van Morrison and the fabulous new Ray LaMontagne providing continuing inspiration and proof that great music is never-ending.
Unlike the majority of bands on the circuit, very few comprise of six, fairly individual performers in their own right. Background styles vary from Rock, Folk, Jazz and Blues and most are seasoned performers who have cut their teeth on the usual circuits up and down the country for the past 10 years.
The futures bright for Wilburnsilver. After a gruelling studio schedule and countless hours of rehearsing time, their Debut album 'looks like up to me' is due for release in the Spring of 2007. The album showcases not only the edge, individuality and courage needed to put something out into the musical ether, but also displays the pride and achievement in their best work to date.
