Velvet Razor are influenced by a mix of bands like:
The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, The Cult, U2, Talking Heads, Stereophonics & Muse.

Formed a little over five years ago (2003), by Dave K and he has been joined by Ian P and Martin W

In Feb 2008 one of Velvet Razor's songs was voted MP3 of the week by UK live music site Lemonrock. This is what they said:
Lemonrock review: "Immediately accessible rock with funk overtones, reminiscent of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Hot House Flowers and Del Amitri, with perhaps a nod to 60s psychedelia à la Small faces and the menace of Manic Street Preachers, this is irresistible listening."

In Jan 2008 Velvet Razor went in to WSC studios in Bury St Edmunds to record 3 new tracks “Victims of Love”, “The Shimmering sun” and “Dancing Fires” (live debuted at Guilfest 2005) the mixes for these songs are to arrive imminently. (A rough mix of “Victims of Love” is on their myspace page).

In 2006 & 2007 Velvet Razor received multiple radio plays from Radio Liberté in France and have been asked to submit some more new material in 2008.

Their 4-track EP is available all over the web on CD-Baby, MusicForte, Indiestore and many more (Just Google Velvet Razor The Razor’s edge and see how many hits you get!).

Velvet Razor didn’t waste time in trying to establish themselves as a fixture in the UK’s South live music scene. Playing a few of festivals in 2007 Fleet Festival, St Michaels Fest Invited to play Basingstoke festival (but had to decline, as they were double booked) As well as being regulars at the “The Grey horse pub”, Kingston and the “Robin Hood Pub” Guildford.
