The Band
About us
The band of VelkroBomb, a mix of very different influences and life experiences, have united through the shared loves of music and playing music live. From various backgrounds of punk rock, indie rock, reggae, grunge, metal and more, they have united with the common purpose of making a unique and catchy sound from their many influences without sounding like any other band. Combined they would have a impressive record collection. That collection is now being minced together and fed through the meat grinder of their minds to become the sausage that is a VelkroBomb song.
A belief and conscious effort not to adhere or bother with genres, dress codes or labels. Any riff or idea that sounds good to all 3 members is good enough.
A belief, learned from the the original punk/indie ethic, that there is no distinction between band and fan, and that a band is not royalty. A belief that a band doesn’t have to be a joke to be entertaining, yet also doesn’t need to be moaning, with a martyr complex, acoustic guitar and greasy hair to be meaningful.
To make the best original songs they can, without resorting to copying previous bands (no matter how good they were!). The songs should mean something to everyone listening, from the guy in the audience tapping a foot because the rhythm or melody is catchy to the girl falling in love with the lyrics of the song.
