About us

"Good stuff guys. First part of Cell of Dreams has that 'Big Star' vibe. Strong voice. Nice one"

The Delays

"The most entertaining band I think I may have seen in ten years of on-line reviewing"

Manuel Ecostos from Manchester Music

"I find it hard to compare Up-Lift to some one which is always a good thing!"

Dan from The Collards

"A big wall of sound band"

Ian Steward a judge from Climb The Tail Competition

"Some clever ideas floating about here. "Skyscaper" could have potential synchronisation opportunities."

Simon Pursehouse from Sentric Music

"Up-Lift sound damn good; they pack quite a punch and have some very cool ideas that set them apart somewhat from many of the more straight-laced 'indie' bands around at the moment."

Pete AKA Toxic Pete

Up-Lift are a 4 piece ROCK band from Manchester featuring Wayne Franklin on vocals, Richard Dixon on guitars, James Roberts on bass and Kevin Clark on drums. They are known for there incredible wall of sound style mixed with melodic harmonies and tight rhythm section, if you think you’ve heard it all you aint heard Up-Lift yet. Up-lift have to be seen live to understand what they are about. When they step on that stage, they own it.

“Up-Lift mixes pop and rock with funk and a touch of electro as they endeavour to bring a 'spacey' aspect to their unusual brand of pop/rock”. Toxic Pete

“We are doing what all bands should try to do: to be distinctively creative and to not copy what is already out there. We have been going for around 9 months and have an awesome list of venues under our belts, such as: the Night and Day Café, the Dry Bar, the Manchester Carling Academy and the Cavern Club in Liverpool. There are many bands out there (signed and unsigned) that have been around for years but have not managed to get to the places that we have in this short amount of time, so we must be doing something good.” Richard Dixon
