“We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars” - or so an Irish poet once said, but what if you’ve grown up on a council estate between Liverpool and Manchester where the only stars you ever see are after getting kicked in the head by a Rockport? With lyrics about drinking, using, breaking, shagging and stealing you may think you’ve heard it all before. Except there’s no macho bullshit this time, no big I am and certainly no wannabe gangsters. Instead Twenty Zeds offer a refreshing and uplifting take on daily life, placing social commentary against a backdrop of alternative rock and indie.

Who wants the stars when the gutter is this much fun?
