About us
For better or for worse you have stumbled upon the profile of Trent Halliday, a singer/songwriter and (obligatory) guitarist. Since Trent is the one writing this here bio, he will not even attempt to pretend that he has representation enough to have someone else write up his page, by writing about him self in the third person.
So your probably wondering what its all about and why you should spend any of your precious web-time on listening to me. The answer is, I’m not completely sure. Instead I can tell you what kind of music I try to make, where I’m coming from, so to speak.
Clearly I’m a lone-wolf (no pretty band, no blistering guitars and kick drums) and I write songs. Mostly, I try to write bluesy folk/pop with a rock sensibility, somewhere in between Nick Drake and Beck. That means lots of finger picking and a rich baritone for vocals. Lyrically I like to pick unusual themes, like the passage of time or go over on the ferry to Ireland. But very often they end up as love songs ……. with a twist perhaps. What I do favour is poetic and symbolic imagery, colours, unusual flights of fancy, psychedelics, woods, internal states of mind, Edwardian ghost stories, unexpected words: I could go on. Hopefully that gives you a bit of a flavour.
Oh yes, Iam also continuing to work on electronic/electroacoustic pieces under the pseudonym Mobiusblue and collaborating on live electroacoustic project called The Buchla Box with one Edgar Curtis who incidentally, produced the above recordings of yours truly.
