About us
In 2006 unsuspecting public audiences were introduced, seduced and blown away by enigmatic northern upstarts, Torrents. The determined four-piece have since gone from strength to strength, causing a stir all over the UK.
An emerging reputation as one of the North West's most exciting young acts follows a succession of assaults on venues all across, Manchester, Liverpool and London, including the legendary Water Rats, and appearances with the Courteeners and The Von Erich Family (ex-Dustin's Bar Mitzvah).
Awarded the accolade of Unsigned Band of the Week by Steve Lamacq (BBC 6 Music), Torrents have also received the support of Garry Bushell, and 2-tone ska legend Pauline Black who recently called by the studio to record backing vox. Torrents have also bagged clothing endorsments with iconic mod brands Fred Perry and Merc, which beats shopping on Blackburn market.
Recent hightlights include a performance (3 tracks) on Channel M's City Centre Social television show and a stint in the studio with Matt Terry, prodcuer of the Enemy's best-selling debut album.
“A Certain Girl is the best song I’ve heard in a long time”
Pauline Black (The Selecter)
“A C E”
Dave Lazer (Dustin's Bar Mitzvah)
"This caught my attention, apart from this band look like they’ve got a nice set of haircuts…"
