About us

In the early months of 2006, five young lads from Brighton united to form 'ThisCity'. Fuelled by a mutual passion for loud rock 'n' roll and tattoos, they were quick to concoct their own unique blend of contagious indie-hardcore, combining rugged guitars, disco-punky beats, punchy vocals and heartstring-ripping lyrics.

Quick to the post, ThisCity were swift to record a solid demo of the core of their set between April and May later in the year. The resultant buzz has pushed their good name to the tips of tongues from Brighton to London and, via their encroaching online notoriety and involvement in both the indie and hardcore scenes alike, even as far as having a strong following in Australia. Of the aforementioned tracks put to record, the standout, enigmatically titled, vitriolic disco stomp-off Track One made waves across the Internet and beyond. It was an instant favourite across the Brighton indie-club scene which led to airtime play on the BBCs Radio 1 including Demo of the Week on Steve Lamaqu and 4 live songs recored for Hue Stephens (Aired April 2007).

The band has since snowballed to ever-growing attention from critics, press and poseurs alike, having already played sold out venues in Brighton and London including the Camden Underworld, Water Rats, 93 Feet East and The Kingston Peel.

ThisCity have also played along side BIFFY CLYRO, DARTZ!, GHOST OF A THOUSAND and DATA SELECT PARTY to name a few.

Bright young things ThisCity are set to rip a new proverbial into the tail end of this years new talent with a whirlwind of noise. Hold onto your hats you heard it here first.

"Like a phoenix from the ashes of Brighton's cream of hardcore come This City, punky-disco indie with oh-so hardcore leanings, like The Travelling Wilburys if it was made of members of Bloc Party and At The Drive In. Not To Be Missed!!!" - Touch Me Im Sick (Brighton club), July 2006

"ThisCity will blow you away!" - Rock Sound Magazine, August 2006

"Tighter than their own skinny-fit jeans" - powpowpow.com, August 2006

"We like it very much indeed!" - Huw Stephens, Radio 1, October 2006
