About us
ATTENTION! - THE SONGS ON THIS PLAYER PLAY AT INCORRECT SPEED! PLEASE VISIT HTTP://WWW.MYSPACE.COM/YOUNGPLAYTHINGS FOR TRACKS AND TOUR DATES.
THE YOUNG PLAYTHINGS sound like Bruce Springsteen arm-wrestling Weezer and Superchunk in the backroom of a sweaty, smoky bar while Pavement, The Replacements and Modest Mouse smile on knowingly from the shadows. The trio keep their sound tight and simple without losing the subtle intricacies of a well crafted sound; this is reflected as much in the smiles on their faces as it is in the notes that they play.
THE YOUNG PLAYTHINGS released their first limited edition single, "The Young Playthings Love U Like That" in September 2005 through London indie label SMALLTOWN AMERICA RECORDS, home to DIY heroes JETPLANE LANDING and FICKLE PUBLIC. It sold out in days.
THE YOUNG PLAYTHINGS second single, "She's A Rebel", was released just in time for a headline slot at the annual STA Christmas Party. A third single, "Yr So Fit (For Me)", is out now and features a guest appearance from Rose from the fantastic PIPETTES. THE PIPETTES also took the band out on the road as support for their "We are the Pipettes" album tour in July 2006.
THE YOUNG PLAYTHINGS release their debut album, "Who Invented Love?", produced by Andy Dragazis (Blue States, The Pipettes), in May 2007.
THE YOUNG PLAYTHINGS are a band who like, wait who love to have fun. They are true believers who sing, dance and sweat, and pour their big hearts into every last note played. They want you to be a part of it. THE YOUNG PLAYTHINGS are easy like that.
