The Worldonfire

Having reached their hundred and fiftieth Gig in the three years they have been together, and seen the release of their debut album on self run indie label ‘Shedio records’ The Worldonfire have acquired quite a large fan base locally which has prompted numerous sell out shows in the Essex and London.

Renowned for their live shows and ability to impress crowds and promoters alike The Worldonfire are set for big things in 2007.

They have just enjoyed a successful two week tour where they shared the stage with fellow up and coming bands such as Shiny toy guns, Kill Hannah, and Pull tiger tail who are all on the rise this year.

These are added to quite an impressive list of bands The Worldonfire have played with including Biffy Clyro, This Girl and Million dead.

They have been likened musically to At the drive-in and Yourcodenameis:milo amongst others, But lyrically are more along the lines of The Jam, Arctic monkeys and The small faces.

"Like most aspects of this album, it's used sparingly, and sits especially well on the cool, calm moments of tracks like Stand Up, Softly, Gently and Take Me Away. But the real beauty of this band is in their ability to let the music do the talking, taking the social and political motivations behind Dave's lyrical musings and running with them, adding a whole new weight of meaning, and creating an absorbing and varied soundscape that is at turns oppressive, melancholic and uplifting."

"Particularly noticeable on standout tracks Garden Cities Of Tomorrow, I Walk Alone and Part 2, the bands ability to use music to convey their dual sentiments of optimistic longing and furious dissatisfaction, without resorting to over the top whinging or tuning their instruments down half an octave and screaming mindlessly, renders them an entirely satisfying listen."

The Album took over a year to complete start to finish as it was self funded and mixed two or three times which proved an important learning curve for the boys who are now booked in for five days recording and mixing in April to record their new material and aim to have it available immediately there after.

The Worldonfire would suggest that they are different enough from everyone else to find a slot in the market, yet still accessible enough to people to stake a claim in the competitive world of music.
