About us


Drawing influence from such seminal acts as The Smiths and The Stone Roses, The Waves (James Bingham – Vocals, Nick Delap – Guitar, Terry Neumann – Bass, Callum Hudson – Drums) have shaped a sound complimenting Manchester’s magnificent musical heritage whilst retaining impressive originality and creativity. This process took four years, the length of time since the first rehearsals took place between Bingham and Delap. Since then the band has written many songs, played countless gigs, and even managed to shut down a local bar when attendance to a more intimate gig was drastically underestimated.
Recently the band received an award for Best Song in the under 18s category of the Liquidisco Academy Awards, as well as Nick winning the Best Guitarist award. After entering the studio in early 2008, The Waves will be performing a number of gigs around the country, sure to be followed by their ever-growing fan base.
