About us
A Brief History
Bound by the gods to form a kick ass rock band, Blackpool based scouser Mark Almond and Jamie Smith were quick to find drummer Mark Fahy and lead guitarist Rob, although the early gigs were good, the sound of the shore just wasn’t quite right, so one quick bust up with Jamie later, Rob left the band and was replaced with Stephen Mellows-Facer. then later, Mark Fahy left and was replaced by Don Murphy, The true sound of the shore was quickly discovered and a hardcore following of fans was soon gathered as the band played in and around their local area. Fast forward a couple of years and with Mark Fahy back on the drum stool it is time for The Shore to reach out beyond their home town and develop a broader fan base befitting a band with such a unique and exciting new sound.
The Sound of The Shore
The unique sound of The Shore comes courtesy of the wide range of music each member draws their influences from, ranging from the powerful riffing and blues based sounds of Led Zeppelin, through the regimented rhythms of 80’s bands such as Joy division and New Order, up to the sounds of Modern alternative rock as played by The Libertines and bands such as The Coral and The Zutons.
Mark Almond’s smooth yet powerful vocals are full of the swagger and attitude that could only come from being a scouser.
Stephen Mellows-Facer plays some of the most memorable riffs, lead lines and solos to be heard this side of 1975.
The thundering, powerhouse basslines come courtesy of our semi-tamed bass monster, Mr Jamie Smith
and providing the rock steady rhythm is Mark Fahy on drums!
