About us

The Plimptons make imaginative fun pop in loads of different styles, as showcased on their latest album, "Pomp", which across 16 tracks and 35 minutes covers all bases from the pure power pop of "Belly Button of the World" to the country redneck hoedown of "Banjology" via the sleaze-rockin "Rock n Roll part 3" and the C86 styled "Systen Error". They also highlight local social history, with "Rockin in'99" and "Impulse Records 1970" dealing with the music scene in Motherwell and the death of the Independent record shop based there. Their album has a glorious full production by former Teenage Fanclub drummer Brendan O'Hare, chucking in all kindsa sonic details! Live they offer a projected cabaret of props, costumes and sometime naked attacks on the audience.
Next time to see them live is at the 13th Note on 15th August if this sounds like it's round your sound mindground.
