About us

Once upon a hill, a good year ago, a wayward group of five fashioned a colourful, percussive, jangly explosion of catchy melodies, pop hooks and fun stabs of vocal necessity, and named themselves The Momeraths.

They found themselves recording songs and gigging up and down the country from the Night and Day in Manchester with Nomad Jones (for In The City 08) through to the Jericho Tavern in Oxford, passing the Orange Rooms in Canterbury before ending up back in Big London Town. There they played their way from Dirty Boots with The Metros, to New Slang with Slow Club, and making a stop at The Proud Galleries on the way.

In amongst all of this, their ever growing fanbase get on their dancing clogs for the Momeraths' club night 'Misfits' and their monthly tea party residency on Tottenham Court Road.

On top of them having been such busy bees, it is set to become even more frantic for them, having been invited to play the infamous 'friends of mine' night at The Fly, Blang Records night at the 12 Bar, "electric feel" with Fanfarlo at The Metro and celebrating the end of a fantastic year by playing the Dirty Boots Christmas Party.

New Slang Review;

"The Momeraths are a five piece band, named after small fuzzy creatures from "Alice In Wonderland" that consist of a scruff of hair, googley eyes and orange legs. In the book (and film) they all cluster together to form an arrow. If there is any correlation between the two, the said arrow should have led Alice to this gig, because this band is quite a find. Their sound is fresh and unique, the majority of their songs a fun fusion of country-folk and tangy guitar strumming with an occasional addition of keyboard-synth electricity. The double-gendered vocals flow well together to create a sound that is not only different but catchy and easy to get people dancing. Check them out definitely."
