About us
It's been a busy time since four guys from Govan got
together to for The Mode. In little over eighteen
months the band have picked up strong fanbase in
Scotland. Their fans include a string of DJs from Xfm
Scotland, Susan Hay and Al Lorraine can regularly be
spotted at their gigs, while Fraser Thomson of
music:response can regularly be seen participating in
the infamous Mode Dance-offs at their after-parties.
As a band championed by Scotland's new music station
The Mode went on to become Xposure band of the week
on influential DJ Jim Gellatly's show. However it is
impossible to mention The Mode and Xfm without a nod
to Dominik Diamond of the station and The Daily Star
who has supported the band twice with his outfit
The A.Ms most recently opening the
Going Underground Festival with The Mode.
The Mode have supported and been supported by some of
the other best acts in the UK at the moment. A Dundee
outfit by the name of The View (who recently had a top 3
single and reached number 1 in the album charts)supported the band in
Glasgow's Barfly and had the favour returned at their
home-town gig. The Band have also supported the likes
of Littl'ans, Jim Noir and twice supported Little Man
Tate at King Tuts Wah Wah Hut. The most recent Little
Man Tate gig saw the band appended to the bill just a
few days for the gig which was already sold out. How
did the band survive without the support of the mode
army? They stormed the audience with a hand-clapping,
foot-stomping set and won themselves some new recruits
to the army
On Sunday October 22nd The Mode were supported by former
Seahorses singer Chris Helme with his new outfit
The Yards at Barrowlands 2.
