About us
The five of us first donned our musical marigolds in late 2006 to make hip-swerving tunes about the seedy and the stupid sides of city living. We mix up indie pop, drum and bass, newer rave and whatever else we fancy with one eye firmly on the dance floor.
After lapping up the goodness of London’s live circuit for the last year, we decided to commit some tunes to wax. The result is ‘Getaway’, a riotous combination of punk, house and guitar pop made to make you bounce around doing the backwards bogle.
‘Getaway’ is backed with ‘Art School Project’, an indie-baiting jaunt about girls, art and homemade smut, and ‘Shoreditch Vampires’, which combines big grooves with a tale of dirty East London parties and the women who love them.
'Getaway' is out on limited-edition 7" vinyl on November 19. Get a sneak preview here...
We've also just recorded a track for Filthy Little Angels' Halloween compilation, a Rocky Horror-themed collection of covers. Our song, 'Rose Tint My World' scored us a mention on Artrocker.com as one of the highlights of the album.
Webzine 40 Shades of Noise said this about our live show:
“The band’s music isn’t the sort you can sit around and pose to…The Housewives can’t help but make you want to stand up and do a little jig”.
How kind!
Hope you enjoy the music...
