About us
The Horses are named after speculations of names for Carl BarĂ¢t's new band, speculations that himself and Adam Green made on a german TV show. But they promise it has nothing to do with drugs. They are formed of two best-friends who always knew they'd make music together, and two other members who met them in 2006 thanks to the wonderful world of the internet. They are from a town called Amiens, near Paris, and don't really think the scene's really different there than in Paris. Influenced by Interpol, Joy Division, and their own life, they see their instrumental music as another way to approach the music, a kind of freedom, a way of leaving the auditor think whatever he wants to think with the lack of lyrics and concentrate on the music. As they enjoy saying, they make music because "writing books is way too long, making movies cost too much money and painting is shit", and because it's what can touch people in the fastest way. "A handful of songs can be more effective than a whole book", says Emmanuel, 16, rythmnic guitarist. [based on "Dirrty Glam" Interview, 2007.]
