THE ELVIS SUICIDE RELEASE THEIR DEBUT SINGLE! 17.03.08! HERE ARE SOME REVIEWS:
"Crazy punk rock’n’roll from Glasgow, Scotland with an alternative touch. “Surveying The Young Professionals”, with its MISFITS influenced vocals and noisy guitars reminds me a bit of the EIGHTIES MATCHBOX B-LINE DISASTER, one of the best UK bands I’ve heard these last years. Following this opening song, “If I Don’t Run” has more of a power pop punk feel in it and could easily be the single of this 4 song demo CD while “Ray Milland” almost sounds country punk and “When I’m Gone” is an acoustic song with a bit of DOGS D’AMOUR and country thrown into it as well. This is short but this is good! While most bands in the UK just copy each other and end up suffocating in a boring indie scene full of clones, The ELVIS SUICIDE definitely have their own thing and I can’t wait to hear a whole album!"
Veglam (France)
"The Elvis Suicide rock. No room for any argument. I'm not having it. Without resorting to too much hyperbole I'll simply say that they're the best support band that I've seen all year, and I've seen a hell of a lot of good supports so far. In fact I wouldn't be stretching it if I said that they were better than a bunch of the established acts that I've seen.
As a band they are certainly up for it. It's all short sharp shocks that mix some traditional '77 punk attitude with a palpable sense of the danger of rock and roll. It's a manifesto of intent that they are laying down here. You either get with the programme, or sit on the sidelines and watch as they hit mach speed and leave the competition in the dust. I wouldn't be surprised if they become a big fish in a small pond very quickly."
El Diablo
"...beneath the scrambling guitars, punchy drumming and punk shouting, The Elvis Suicide have a country sensibility. They start the set fast and hard allowing drummer Div Striker to lead the charge and wooing the crowd with sheer energy. They never slow the pace, but as the set wears on, the more subtle structures become clear their single-mindedness is breathtaking, their music stripped of the pretension that mars so much rock."
The Skinny
"Angular, riotous and boasting more sharp edges than a trolley load of broken bottles curdling in a wired spasmodic grind more befitting an potently charged Joy Division and yet coming across very much like a less daunting Dead Kennedys. Absolutely recommended."
