About us
The Coloursound Experiment formed in the summer of 2006. Consisting of Mike Gallagher (vocals), Simon Babb (guitar), Dave Crowther (bass), John Lewis (drums), Celyn Thomas (sax) and Jamie Howells (keyboards), The Coloursound Experiment aim to create the most exciting music of the next 20 years
and have the world dancing to their tune!
Their music can only be described as porn for your eardrums, fusing funk, ska, soul, electronica and hard rock in an explosive hybrid, drawing on a diverse range of musical influences from such seminal artists as James Brown, Funkadelic, The Specials, The Selector, The Beastie Boys, Stevie Wonder and The Super Furry Animals to name but a few.
The Coloursound Experiment have been tearing up the Welsh and South-West music scenes for over a year playing universities, clubs, toilets and several festivals. Their live show has been described as a foot stomping, toe tapping extravaganza, with more energy than a Duracell Bunny on a ten bag of monkey dust. Packed full of energy, The Coloursound Experiment’s shows always end with a sea of drunken fans hitting the dance floor, attempting to out do the crazy shapes being thrown onstage by the band.
"The most entertaining live band I’ve seen in a long time, definitely one to watch!"
Emma Thomas, Voice Magazine
"They capture a perfect blend, creating a fresh, original sound for themselves without pigeonholing themselves. Awesome sound!"
Matt Sampson, Producer, Kasabian
