About us


The Cavalry write upbeat energetic songs and were brought together by their mutual affections of all things Rock N Roll! Paul, Mark, Stuart, and Matty got together back in September 2005 and 'The Cavalry' was born! Having spent months locked away writing songs in the rehearsal studio, The Cavalry performed their first gig in March 2006. The response was overwhelming! Over 120 people showed up to watch the band and many became instant fans of The Cavalry's upbeat and emotion charged sound, demanding more information on gig dates and when to catch the next performance. The four lads knew they were onto something, however their search for an organ player to complete the line up had been unsuccessful, and the band felt incomplete. It was then that Phil Jones, a guitarist who had played in bands with Mark, heard that some of his old mates had formed a band and he decided to have a jam session with them one rehearsal. The impact of Phil's melodic guitar riffs took The Cavalry to the next level and the line up was nearing completiton. In December 2006 Stuart left the band in order to pursue his own musical preferences, and in came bassist Dave White to complete the line up!!! The Cavalry have been creating a stir on the North West music scene ever since and have rocked and sold out venues including Manchester Academy 3, The Late Room, Life Cafe, Jacksons Pit, Mixing Tin, and The Witchwood to name but a few. The Cavalry were also recently crowned winnners of Oldham's Battle of the Bands contest, and for Paul, Mark, Dave, Phil and Matty the future looks bright.
