In this day and age of sameness and copycat tactics, Rivers are truly what we've all been waiting for: that breath of air so fresh it reminds you why music is such an intrinsic part of your life.

Rivers' greatness lies in the content of their songs, in the references to sentiments that we can all relate to, whether it be tangled relationships ['Can't Let You Go'] or that special someone we can always rely on ['There Are Angels'], or the positivity call to arms that is the bands new single 'Shine', and this manifests itself both through the band's command of its audience's attention at gigs and in their ability to capture the hearts and minds of listeners on record.

The band aims to make music that pays homage to the bands that have gone before them and inspired them to follow in their footsteps and sound-tracked theirs lives so they can then do the same for their fans.

The band have been spending time in the studio with Pigeon Detectives/Cribs man Andy Hawkins as they hone capturing the essence of their live amazing live shows on record, and with this single 'Shine'and its B-side 'Take Me Home', they have certainly done just that."

Reviews: -

"An inclusive, genre-spanning revolutionary."
Leeds Guide (On Frontman Jack Simpson)

"Whenever you watch Rivers it feels like we and they are on the cusp of a revolution. 'There Are Angels' should be number 1: their performance feels like a piece of genius"
Yorkshire Evening Post

"It has to be said that Rivers' energy and passion shines through especially on songs like 'There Are Angels' and 'Where Are You Tonight'. Jack is like the Tasmanian Devil, spitting out rock tunes which cross over from The Roses and Oasis to, surprisingly, Pixies and then back again. "
LeedsMusicScene.net

"On ‘There Are Angels’ there’s some really clever vocals and some good hooks. I can just picture the band playing 'Girl' live and everybody just being totally enraptured."
Sandman

"Somewhere between Iggy Pop and The Editors, Jack's vocal, immediate, feels warm and meaningful and the guitar section, captivates with every rising note."
