REDROOTS - BLOG
Minimalist, stripped down, gritty, raw – call it what you want. There’s no denying RedRoots, this West London based packs an underhanded punch with their doggedly fierce, swaggering, indie, ska, pop, dub fusion. After building a solid foundation of dedicated fans in the underground circuit, the group found a diverse audience, crossing genres and pushing boundaries.
With a frontman with true star quality, (nicknamed Music Man by Pete Doherty) RedRoots explosive live set carries a hefty spirit leaving any audience wanting more.
Their line-up consists of Vocals – Music Man, Lead guitarist – Mark, Bass Guitarist Nico, Drums - Sam.
After supporting The Paddingtons and The View at the end of last year Pete Doherty asked them to support Babyshambles at the Rhythm Factory. At their last support slot for Babyshambles in February 08 they received an encore from the devoted Babyshambles crowd.
They are currently recording their most anticipated debut album which will feature exciting collaborations including Pete Doherty and being mixed by Adam Whittiker (Amy Winehouse and Mark Ronson 007). The summer saw them play slot's at Glastonbury, Wakestock as XFM winners and The Glade Festivals.
Support slots for 2 Pete Doherty solo sets and a date with The Thirst are not far away.
