About us
And now some words on 'Rays' from the maestro:
"Amazing………How the Rays bring your music back. These boys obviously know what they're doing as they've asked yours truly to produce their record! Well actually it was a toss up between me and Phil Spector……..alas we all know where poor old Phil is these days, his soul sucked back into the hollow, cavenous echo chambers of his own tape delayed mind where gun shots ring out with the decay time of infinity.
Personally I agree with Phil, some bands make records, some just make ideas – the Rays make records – good ones. Somewhere in years gone by did you happen to hear a decent musical combo, now just a distant memory?
If so I have a wonderful idea for you that will lift your spirits & astound your friends. Have a listen to the Rays' new songs caught here, glowing incandescent in the web of this glorious wide world. You'll never believe how quickly your musical enjoyment can return when you hear these remarkable tunes. With their extraordinary talent & my special reverberation system we've created a beautiful collage of musical tones & textures that I once heard someone cleverly describe as multitracking! Inspired by the general back alley ambience one would expect from some Marrakech pipe ensemble they have grafted in the pyramid room on Helicon Mountain mining for sounds hidden amongst memory & myths. All the songs are arranged under variations of light – candlelight is very nice, moonlight also, but the band were especially pleased with their latest angle poise.
Jason is the charismatic singer who used to sell waves on the Cote D'Azur. He's a somnambulist – definitely lives what he does…..Mike - the multi-instrumentalist has lovely hair that makes Dylan's barnet circa `66 look like a mere bungalow…..George plays drums & percussion – He resembles a pre Raphaelite painting & studied time signatures under the Arc Angel…….. Jamie – the petaphysical bassist – his sound went straight through to my heart – over my head, heavy as lead – I'd tell you what he said but I swore I'd keep it secret……… And Grant - Guitar tones straight from the gods that brings a tear to my eye with every damn strum.... the Rays – I just love these boys ! – yer know sometimes I feel like I could be their father………………hey hang on a minute………"
