About us
Raven beats Crow are a four piece band from London with a taste for the broken and the beautiful … Imagine if you will, keyboards that resemble a battalion of ice-cream vans from the future, rampant basslines and erratic guitars woven into a tapestry of organically-mechanical drumbeats.
This well stocked aviary of musical styles has recently appeared live at many ‘5 star’ venues across London and the UK. The band also host their very own club night “Club Raven” in Camden, where they play along-side a variety of other hand picked unsigned bands and performers.
Raven beats Crow were nominated in the Best Alternative Category for the 2008 Indy Awards and were recently featured in i-cast’s Best of Myspace Podcast.
In August 2008 Raven beats Crow released their debut self-produced E.P. ‘Pantheon Of Stars’. Their second E.P. is due for release on the 12th of December 2008.
Here’s what some thoroughly nice chaps have said about their work recently:
“Gob-smackingly inventive alternative pop – would love to see them perform this at the South Bank or something … A priceless find.” – The Music Tourist Board
“The garage sensibility of the Seeds or Electric Prunes given a contemporary nigh on Hot Chip electro sparseness, and all tied up with some post punk sniffy nosed experimentation. Corvine crackers…” – Bugbear
“They sound familiar yet new at the same time. Your ears will rest comfortably in their domain, yet you will come away with the realistion that what you’ve heard is not quite like anything you’ve encountered before.” – Smoke Music Magazine
