About us
Just when it seemed like rock had died a bland post-punk-emo-indie death, the dynamic quintet Pauper Kings enter with a refreshingly energetic and upbeat contribution to British music. The band was formed when vocalist Dave Blomiley and drummer Ollie Brown realised there was a gap in the rock scene that urgently needed to be filled with Blomiley’s charismatically unique voice and Brown’s incredible flair for detail. As their music evolved into the rambunctious rock that characterises the band, in 2006 guitarist Chris Buckley was ushered in with electrifying solos and inventive riffs, shortly followed by jazz-rooted Sam Norman’s funky but solid bass lines. The final addition to the group, Woody, completed the line-up with his metal-influenced guitar style, bringing a new dimension to the band’s increasingly popular sound. Punchy, melodic and ever-distinctive, Pauper Kings are currently playing the London circuit and recording their first album.
