About us
Their name came about during a discussion with Nicks Grandma about the music she used to dance to as a young lady, and the fact that she thourght all this modern music was just lots of bang bang beats.
SOUNDING OFF LIKE A DISCO HARVEY KIETEL BATTLING FOR THE BAR IN DUSK TILL DAWN WITH A GUN LOADED WITH LOVE, ABANDONMENT AND POP, ROCK, FUNK HIP HOP AND ELECTRONICA
Tony and Nick met in Wolverhamption College of Art and Design where they lived together. When they left they did some experimental production with some of Nicks songs they called this project Lawnboy afer a lawnmower shop in Downham Norfolk, which involved a hover and various other strange noises.
Palais Glide formed after Tony met Mike a friend of his girlfriend at the time. Mike was producing his own unique Techno/Electronica which gained some notice through his website and strangely received interest from Russia.
They practiced together alot in a small terrace house in the Woodgate area of Leicester, then gigged regularly from 2002 receiving some record label interest from DB records who signed Electric Soft Parade and the Secret Machines. Playing Leicester Venues as the Attic/Charlotte supporting King Creasote.
Then Mike and Tony moved further South for better jobs tony was sick of stuffing cushions and painting inflatable castles. Nick moved from Norfolk where he had been writing tune after tune, living like a hermit in the small town of Swaffham and collecting as much electronic music as you can, so much that the guys who run Sound-clash records in Norwich called him electron- nick every-time he walked into the shop. He purchased a huge 1980's casio keyboard from cash converters which they lumbered around into the back of taxis and on London buse's.
They then started playing gigs in London 93-ft east, The Hope and Anchor, Betsy Trotwood on sweaty nights the and sweat poured from there little souls. They have recently had some interest from some digital labels , a EP will be finished off in the new year then a number of dates announced. And there are some rumours of of other souls joining in the mix...
