About us
When Wihan and I first started this project almost two and a half years ago it was very much in our hands, there was absolutely no guidance from outside. This effectively resulted in things moving at a glacial pace as we were learning as we went along. I had already attempted to get a few demos recorded while living in London so I had a bit of a leg up on how things worked? or so I thought. I quickly realized that there was a VAST difference between being a solo artist and being part of a band. Songs came and songs went. We were actually really struggling to find a sound that would make both of us happy but we carried on.
The hunt was on for permanent musicians and after a few days of apparently selective memory loss we threw my (then 16y/o) cousin Zane into the mix. The chemical reaction was almost instant. A perfect fit! With less than a week to prep, the next show was not as great as the first but we were happy.
Zane is somewhat of a prodigy with talent far beyond his years. He could somehow hear everything that was missing in the music and filled the void.
The last little missing piece was slot into the big picture about a week ago when Allecia stepped up to the plate to bring in some soul... Yeah... we now have a chick on bass!! LOVING IT! She is a little ball of energy, and i can see that she will be keeping us on our toes. Nothing wrong with that!
We had found our sound.
We might be the most unlikely group of people to be in the same room... not to mention share a stage.. BUT SOMEHOW IT WORKS!
Strangely the younger ones have a great feel for the old school sound, adding a bit of grit to our vision. We have a mish mash of songs on our first album (Livid & Carmine) showcasing our inability to stick to a genre... and why should we?
We are not in this for anything other than doing what we love... in public...
Kinky!
Love us... and make us your own.
Mwha!
