About us


ORIGIN started life as a 3 piece band playing predominately in North and Central Manchester with their own gigs and supporting various local bands.

ORIGIN are:

Dave Hulme bass & vocals
Adi Richards guitar
Dave Ramsbottom drums
Tony Edwards vocals

Dave and Rammy started playing together in COLA MOON before going their separate ways. Rammy to play with local indie heroes EVERSCENE and Dave began to play informally with Adi; they met up with Rammy again in 2001 and ORIGIN began to write and gig their own brand of back to basics indie rock.

In late 2006 ex PIPELINE front man Tony joined the line up bringing a new dimension to the ORIGIN sound and a passion for live performance.

ORIGIN spent the first part of 2007 writing and recording new material, Dave starting with solid bass roots giving endless scope to Adi's guitar top lines and riffs; but nothing happens until Rammy structures the drums. Rammy’s drumming is a real signature of how ORIGIN sound – no one plays with such awesome snare work.

Renewing their commitment to recording and gigging in 2007 has been influenced by audience reaction and enthusiasm for playing live..…….
