About us
THE MIGHTY No_MAD began as a humble acoustic act back in the summer of 2002.
Formed by singer/songwriter Dan Graham and guitarist Chris West, they quickly found Phil Brannelly (backing vocals and guitar) to complete the core.
As time went on and their tunes became more upbeat they started to stand out too much at acoustic nights as fans cried for drum and bass. However they continued to beat the acoustic path leading to the departure of Chris West and the introduction of Matt O’Daly.
The acoustic No_MAD went from strength to strength as Matt brought a new dynamic to the band with songs such as Circling the Sky.
Then the time had come to bring in the rhythm section, through the fall of Sonic Republic a reunion between Dan Graham and Johannes Haverkamp, who played together in Your Faithful X, was made possible. Johannes introduced the band to bass player Phil Hotson and they were ready to take the songs to another level.
Johannes and Phil brought a driving backbone to the band as new songs like What’s On My Mind emerged and old favourites were transformed into foot stomping anthems.
They worked on material early 2007 then began gigging to a fantastic response around London. They ended the year with the first full band demo recorded at Mackeys Music in Bristol.
Early 2008 saw the return of Chris West, as Matt departed, and what a year so far!
Successes include top track Batman & Robin being played on Soccer AM (Sky Sports) to much acclaim in May 2008, gaining airtime on BBC Southern Counties Radio in September 2008 and the release of their EP (recorded at Tweeters and mixed at Resident Studios).
This band’s catchy, indie, acoustic, pop, rock will bounce around your head and have you dancing at gigs.
Live and recorded make sure you STAY TUNED and SPREAD THE WORD in 2008, the year of No_MAD!
