About us


Neo Choline are a Bolton based band who experiment in various types of melodic rock to form their own unique sound. With a variety of influences, from emo to metal, the band combine a creative mix of skilful vocals, heavy driven yet still melodic guitar parts, expert bass lines and complicated, speedy, technical drumming to produce a fantastic and rather original sound.

Neo Choline was formed in late 2006 from the reminiscence of two other bands- Switch~Blade and The Dirty Shirts. The singer of SB (Brad Makinson), and the drummer and guitarists from The Dirty Shirts (Jonny Cooper, Matthew “Skiddy” and Dave Summerton) joined together to form the new band. The guys jammed and wrote songs together for a while before deciding it was time to take it further. They were soon joined by Dave Rossington who aided the band further in their melodic matrimony.

Unfortunately in May 2007 Dave Summerton left the band due to personal reasons which will remain undisclosed. The band were sad to see this skilled player leave.

The latest addition to the band is Alex Riley, a superbly skilled guitarist who plays with immaculate precision. The band are proud to have Riley as a part of the band and with this new and improved sound to the band, they are unstoppable.

Neo Choline are one of the hardest working bands in their area, with relentless gigging and new material being written daily, Neo Choline set out to rock the nation.
