About us

Mushi´s music doesn`t sound like anything else on the Danish music-stage. His style is catchy, a touch of melancholy pop/rock with a great deal of western/Balcan/folk/cabaret and a pinch of salsa. But - and that is important - it is always on the move. The album "unfairytales" is imbued with catchy refrains, use of untraditional musical instruments and never-ending surprises.

His music is characterized by its versatility and the international feel. Not much in Mushi`s music smells like the backwaters of Denmark. His music is a dogged confrontation with narrowing limits and strict ideas
of what mainstream music is supposed to sound like. And it is done without being too narrow or hard to understand: the catchy tunes are given high priority. As for the lyrics Mushi has a lot on his mind. They are centered around the tragicomic and bizarre sides of life - always made with a twinkle in the eye.

Rasmus Fynbo is the man behind Mushi, which is a solo project. Fynbo is by and large an autodidact and has in no way been urged to create music ( rather the opposite ), but in mild defiance he has written and produced music throughout the last 15 years and has catalogue in excess of 500 songs.

The National Danish media wrote:

Politiken (5/6 stars)
Mushi has launched a spectacular parade of eminent popsongs , written by a storyteller with a sensitive mind and a power of distant observation along with an ability of expressing, what he observes. On top of that he has an almost incredibly good ear for both the roaring and the intelligent refrains.

...and with a never ending contagious enthusiasm to find the right wrapping for his songs.

You are totally swept off your feet by extravagant tracks like "Unfairytale", "Pieces of Nothing" and "Dead Man Walking"

Just try to curl your ears around "Wake up" and "Trivial Decay". It may take a long time before they are uncurled again.

This debut sounds like a million. Where the million comes from, God only knows, but it is worth every penny.

Berlingske Tidende (4/6 stars):
On "Unfairytales" Mushi exposes an extremely rare flair for writing interesting popsongs of a kind where
the catchy refrains and the artistic ambitions go very well together.

He is an excellent singer who has the ability to make the lyrics come alive, lyrics written in moods of the late hours of night.
Mushy can write a song and perform it in a way that touches the listener.

BT: (4/6 stars)
The contagious tunes, the catchy refrains and the lyrics - pensive and a bit on the dark side - Reminds you of a sound-track to a Tarantino-movie

Luckily Mushi - with his hybrid pop/rock with elements of among other things Balcan-rhytms, cabaret and country - is hard to label.
