About us
MORNING CALL formed in late 2004 as a four-piece indie band, rehearsing at Carl’s own studio in their home town of Blackburn. They worked hard to forge a live set and develop their sound, and revealed their rock and roll influences by getting out gigging soon after.
After the departure of original lead singer, Chris Byrne, MORNING CALL continued as a three-piece writing, most notably, the songs 100 MPH and Head Explosion which still feature prominently in their set today. A chance conversation led to the addition of Andrew Macauley as a utility man in the band, initially focusing on rhythm guitar but now as full-time pianist and synth player. This resulted in a renewed enthusiasm for making music and MORNING CALL’s hard work began to be rewarded as they started to feature in local press, at larger venues and gained fans across the North West.
Whilst showcasing their music whenever and wherever they can, MORNING CALL meet regularly to rehearse their popular live set, and write new music. They currently have a seven track EP available, Killing Time, which displays their talent in producing music. This has received universally glowing reviews and the songs Kicking our Heels, Single File and A Little Late have taken MORNING CALL to new levels.
A Little Late in particular encapsulates the unique sound they are forging. Retaining influences of The Beatles, The Stone Roses, Oasis and BRMC, the band create a dance-like indie sound which often sees concert-goers dancing to the front of venues (and occasionally onto the stage itself!). The video to this song will be shot soon with Red Brick Productions (who have worked with Babyshambles and The Fratellis), and should be completed by the end of February.
MORNING CALL combine blistering guitars, lush synth sounds and rock and dance rhythms with attitude and energy on stage. This helps them stand out from other bands they gig with.
MORNING CALL are passionate about their music, they seek management, promotion, to record with a label and ultimately the opportunity to showcase their music wherever people will listen. They are determined to be a success and will work hard to reach that goal. Check them out
