About us
The Monte Cristo Blondes formed completely in June 2006 after several changes to the line up. Dale Kinsey has been playing since January 2006 with a bass guitarist and several drummers. Due to other commitments and/or reasons unknown the bassist and the drummers left. In April 2006 Ian "Knocker" Barton was asked to step into the fold as the Monte Cristo Blondes new bassist. Despite already being in a band (The Peoples) Ian agreed, after much soul searching, to leave The Peoples and go full time with the MCB's. The struggle then began to find the final piece of the jigsaw... a drummer. Luckily Knocker had a top drummer playing in his previous band, the only trouble was getting hold of him. After much reluctance from the singer of The Peoples he eventually agreed to pass his number on to the MCB's. In June 2006 Mark "Swifty" Swift (you see what they've done there?) came onto the scene and provided the awe inspiring beats to an already incredible sound and this, coupled with fantastically well wrote songs, that some say is reminiscent of The Beatles/Kinks, is what sets the Monte Cristo Blondes apart from many other bands. The final line up was complete when Stu "OGGY" Ogden (formerly of The Differents) stepped up to become the new guitarist in January 2008 when the last guitarist decided life was better out of the MCB's and on the dole and preferred impending fatherhood (to make it six). This new line up is bigger, better and moves more than ever! Each member of the band draws on many different influences but combined, the Monte Cristo Blondes shine with their ability to produce toe-tapping tunes. People, you really should "Roll up Roll up" when the Monte Cristo Blondes come to town. So keep your eyes and your ears open because the circus is on it's way!
