PS
My academic experiences at school have strengthened my desire to pursue a career in chemistry.
Initially, my interest in chemistry started when I was first shown the experiment involving the combustion of hydrogen. I continued enjoying the practical aspect of chemistry, but also started to realise that the industry is fundamental to every day life and is also markedly inherent to health and general upkeep. My passion for chemistry has followed me through my school career to where I am now studying Advanced Higher Chemistry. As part of my research project I am analysing the relationship, over time, between active carbons and the concentration of iodine solution. The practical aspect of this work has not only developed my interest in Chemistry, but has reinforced my desire to further enhance my knowledge of the subject at university.
Throughout my school career I have been involved in many of the extra curricular activities. I have played the trumpet for nine years, showing my dedication and motivation for something which I am truly passionate about. This skill has allowed me to take part in the Junior and Senior Concert Bands, the Symphony Orchestra, the Brass Band, the Big Band and the Brass Quintet. My participation in these groups illustrate my enthusiasm for music and demonstrate my devotion to my responsibilities. This year I have also received vocal training, allowing me to acquire a leading role in the school’s drama production. This experience was thoroughly enjoyable and required a great deal of team work and STARBUCKS…
