About us
Makeshift Truth are a new band with a long history and a blister live show. They are a band that after only 4 shows were being asked to headline gigs due to their Music, Energetic Live Show and Fast Built Fan base. After Mike d was kicked out of Mongrel (Hondo MacLean/The Future) he was asked to hook up with Oli, Kev and the now Funeral for a Friend Guitarist Kris Roberts-Combs. The band PH-14 formed a band that after a while ran out of steam with the remaining members (Mike, Oli and Kris) starting the now legendary January Thirst with Johnny Phillips (Mongrel/ Funeral for a Friend), Mev’s (Dignity Dies First/Funeral for a Friend) And Kerry Roberts (Funeral for a Friend) Oli soon left to pursue his dream for becoming a music teacher, not long after the recording a track for the UK/HC (Blackfish Records) comp Mike also Quit coz he was unhappy with the band. Many years later after all watching there friends bands FFAF, Hondo MacLean/The Future and Bullet for my Valentine play bigger and bigger shows Kev, Kerry and Oli started writing new music to start a new band. After a Chance find on myspace Mike and Oli got in touch again and started to talk about the old days and Mike was asked to try out for the new band.
The band wanted to try the two singer format that January Thirst used but with more a melodic side so the guys got in Mike’s good friend Steve to Scream while Mike sang and also enlisted Bassist Antony into the band and set about putting together a live set but problems hit when Mike took a job in England and couldn’t make it to the writing sessions. But after a few weeks Mike came back to Wales to carry on with the band as he new this was where his heart was but then Kerry and Steve both left with in months of each other due to their family commitments and coz they didn’t want to hold the band back. So after these set backs the boys stuck to their guns and carried on as a four piece and wrote a blistering set of songs that they set about playing to the world.
“That’s best and most f**king mental band I’ve ever seen live” Shiner - Miss Conduct
“How the hell does Mike Sing and Scream like that, that’s Amazing” Rob - As Silence Falls
“You guys are scaring me now” Sean Hales - Crossbar Studio
Makeshift Truth have also been called one of the most energetic bands to hit the Welsh and UK music scene in years, they have also be likened to a melodic Sick of it all hanging out with Snapcase while drinking with Haste
MAKESHIFT TRUTH are Vocal - Mike D, Guitar - Oliver Craze, Drums - Kevin Nedin & Bass - Anthony Ennis
