About us
It is a little known fact that long ago in the warm mists of history the gods once conspired to some day create a musical force that could just as easily as generate a tear of sorrow from the eye of the listener as a spasm of joy in the heart within them. However, like with many a fine brew this process could not be rushed, and so to prepare the world for this event its people were subjected to a plethora of dirge-like grey speckled only with occasional flashes of brilliance.
As many prophets once predicted, three would be the magic number, and come the second month of a future calendar this very prediction began to raise to truth from the Earth's rock in the human form of Baz Francis. Through his formative terrestrial years he began to compose and sing fine melodies that remarkably consisted of magical qualities, aided only by a plank of wood entwined with metallic cord that would later be known as a guitar.
Travelling across the sonic airwaves like vanilla-scented lightning, these super sounds were picked up beyond the oceans by a primal percussive force who would soon move to the alias of Mike Corbyn once he found out that his birth name conflicted with the international trademark of a popular brand of industrial saltpetre. The man Corbyn then sought to conquer those rough seas in order to be united with his kindred musical spirit.
No words were spoken between drummer and guitarist for a long eight-year verbal exile of intense musical creativity, until one day a large spherical rock was hurled through the open window of their compositional suite, nearly maiming our heroes yet failing to interrupt their rehearsals. As the seemingly vicious creature responsible for this incident scaled the hollow stairwell to the pair's second storey hideout, there was a collective realisation that its deep-toned resonance complimented the group's sound perfectly. No sooner was he through the door, Robbie J. Holland was recruited to the fold and the mystical alliance was complete.
Taking their name from each of the individual paths the three members followed to get to this prophesised moment, Magic Eight Ball was born. The harmonic trident soon began to unleash a helter skelter of emotions upon the world through their very own brand of flavoursome rock n' roll, and to this day they can be seen playing their much spoken of tunes in auditoriums across the land. By way of gaining further attention to their cause they have even recorded an extended player compact disc which can be purchased from the band for three pieces of silver.
