The Band
About us
Madamawitch is a new band making its way between cabaret pop and indie rock.
Originally formed in 2001 by a beguiling French singer and a prolific Sicilian born bass player, the three piece have since honed their bewildering combination of reverberating bass and soaring vocals into a solid object ready to hammer your senses into submission.
Their debut demo was featured on the BBC One Unsigned Band playlist in 2003 and received good buzz from Brazil to Australia.
Soon after, it became a fixture of one of YourSound Club’s nights in Glasgow.
Their influences, if traceable, are to be found in the music of the Pixies, David Bowie, Black Sabbath and Bjork but also in Rothko & Bob Fosse. They are finishing their first LP and are ready to ride a new wave of gigs in London in 2007.
