About us
Intense and sinister yet totally up lifting, Lowlife borrow from Manchester’s rich musical heritage and weave a sound that is both timeless and unique.
Lowlife began writing in early January of this year, locked away in an undeveloped mill in Manchester Ancoat’s district the music began to echo their surrounding. Consisting of Sam Clark on drums, Mike Hosker on bass, Andy Hewitt on guitar and Robbie Rush on guitar and vocal duties, Lowlife’s intention is simple, to create atmospheric groove laden music rich in detail and full of energy.
Drawing inspiration from cult favourites The Jesus and Mary Chain, and My Bloody Valentine, Lowlife’s intense guitar sound is underpinned by tribal house tinged drums and fuzzed up dub bass lines. Lowlife’s music is written to be played live, their dance sensibility combined with live energy has won over fans up and down country, having recently toured with both The Enemy and Happy Mondays
"THE BEST NEW BAND IN THE COUNTRY" - TOM CLARKE - THE ENEMY
"One of Manchester's new hopes! Explosive and energetic live, combining Oasis, Primal Scream & Joy Division and a touch of Kasabian at times. You need to see these boys live to fully understand the Lowlife vibe; driving guitars and bass lines with amazing drums and electric vocals and a touch of synth capturing the dark underbelly of the city in 2007" - KAV - HAPPY MONDAYS
WE ARE NOW TAKING BOOKINGS FOR GIGS, AS WE WILL BE STEPPING INTO THE LIVE ARENA AT THE BACK END OF SEPTEMBER TO BEGIN OUR SONIC ASSAULT ON THE MASSES
