About us

What is Rock 'n' Soul?

'Live Politics' began life in 2006, formed in South London by Dan Bridge, Sam Pavey, James King, Steve Quirk and Sam Bridge who was later to be replaced by Ben Doyle.

The relative inexperiance of the band was quickly conquered by the combination of determination and natural talent of its members. Work quickly began on refining the bands sound and image, with musical influences of Led Zepplin, Bob Marley, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and a vocal style somewhere between Paul Weller and Joe Cocker. The result was a refreshing new sound of classic rock music sculpted by soulful melodies; that is Rock 'n' Soul.

Live Politics' verstility is demonstrated by the wide range of genres covered within their music. From the fresh and funky, almost reggae feel of 'Devils of War', to the epic sing-a-long inspiring 'Too much Time' to the 70's rock esque 'Stuck in the Sands'. whether evocative and meaningful or lighthearted and fun, all Live Politics songs are delivered with a warm, powerful vocal that instantly catches the ear.

We are regulars around the London/South East London pub/bar scene, we have also played a number of gigs around the West End, and our most recent achievements include performing at a local festival to over 1000 people and reaching the regional semi-finals in a national battle of the bands competition hosted by Surface Unsigned (semi final date below).

We have just finished recording our demo EP and we would greatly appreciate any feedback that you could give us on the tunes above and we would also like to take this opportunity to invite you to one of our of upcoming gigs so you can see for yourself what we have to offer and how we differ from other groups.

If you ever need flyers from us jsut e-mail us and we will arrange something for you.
