The Band
About us
Little Engine played their debut gig in 2005 at a house party in Manchester. The three 17 year olds have since gone on to capture the hearts and ears of the cities music scene.
This year they have picked up support slots for Vampire Weekend, The Crimea, The KBC and The Courteeners and played to a rapturous reception at D-Percussion festival ‘07. DJ Conrad Murray (The Revolution) and Xfm radio have given the bands demo’s continued airplay.
Here’s what people are saying about Little Engine
Manchestermusic.co.uk – Live review Sept 2007
"Little Engine are a dynamic three piece of a tender but certainly not naive age – they have instantly attracted an army of young people, front of stage.
They have the best bass player in Manchester – a fellow with liquid fingers capable of blurred ascents of his bass’s fretboard.
There aren’t many bands who can also command a few encores, especially with so many seeing them for the first time. A band with so much ahead of them and plenty more songs to come it’s heartening that they’re instantly popular. Most definitely ones to watch”.
Manchester Evening News – Live Review – October 2007
Little Engine have justifiably been making quite a name for themselves with a demo that’s proved to be as hot as a vindaloo with extra chillies.
Self assured without a hint of arrogance and masters of their respective instruments, fearlessly embracing different sounds to make their set truly engrossing,
Little Engine are still very much their own band with shades of true originality poking through. One listen to Baby Boy or River Flow and you’re likely to get hooked, keep everything crossed that they can maintain this enviable level of performance.
Manchester Online – live review – October 2007
LITTLE ENGINE are generating a pleasing racket. With your eyes closed, there are times when you can hear a Bellamy-Muse inflection in the vocals as this exciting unit motor their way into peoples ears and hearts - watch this hot combo closely - could be big.
