Level Four began in Aberdeen during 2004. Rehearsals in a cramped attic resulted in a handful of songs that suggested that these four young lads were capable of producing music with a refreshing twist and originality, not often the case with bands so young. For the next 18 months the Level Four agenda was to hone their skills in the practice room and on the live circuit. During this time the band recorded and distributed the first demo (self financed through organising a gig in The Tunnels, Aberdeen)

In 2006 the band spread to Dundee and Glasgow with the ambition of getting a reputation as a well-known Scottish band. During the summer of 2006 the band recorded a second demo with “Paul Davidson and their live engineer Calum Couzin”.

Scottish label “Valentine Bitch Records” (label of Copy Haho and Project: Venhell) suggested; “One of the most promising demos we have received since the label started…it shows great maturity beyond their years”.

The Audio Dropouts webzine said “Local support Level Four more than held their own on what could be called a daunting slot. This exciting lot had a few colossal anthems in the set, delivered with precision instrumentation and excellent stage sound” after our opening slot with the legendary APB and top Scottish act Spare Snare.

Due to some hard work and distributing over 100 cd-r demos in Aberdeen alone, gigs started to follow. Successful support slots include; The Grim Northern Social, APB at the Lemon Tree, Aberdeen, The Heights at Moshulu, Aberdeen, French punk band Straightened Things Out at Barcode, Perth. A successful opening slot for Bromheads Jacket at The Tunnels, Aberdeen was a particular highlight. Recent shows in 2007 have seen the band hit Glasgow Capitol with the excellent Miss The Occupier. A packed Doghouse in Dundee saw them support The Grim Northern Social for the second time and a Nice n Sleazys debut with local Glasgow band Stonesthrow.

Not to distant plans for Level Four include a UK tour in summer with Construction Records band Odd Shaped Head, the third demo - eventually leading to the first full-length album and continual shows around Scotland. Level Four are showing their great ability, capability and experience despite their youth in a booming Scottish music scene.
