About us
The story of Laura Lost begins at the V Festival in Summer 2004, when Laura tried to jump over a fence to see the Pixies. Unfortunately, her ring caught on the fence, and when she jumped down, it ripped her finger clean off, and she had to be rushed to the hospital. When she recovered, she wrote the song "Rock and Roll Casualty" to capture the experience. Laura met Nikoli in November 2004, and as they jammed together, more songs came, and together they recorded the first ever Laura Lost recording, "the Rock and Roll Casualty EP". Rufio and Oakley joined in February 2005, and Laura Lost was officially formed In March. Laura Lost went into a studio to record "The Tragic EP", and publicised it by internet promotion, and constant gigs (including the Mean Fiddler), and it was a storming success. The single "Tragic" was even voted "Best unsigned Song" by impartial music fans and industry on www.overplay.co.uk, and as a result of that, the band will be enjoying a free holiday in Ibiza this summer! In April 2006, Laura Lost returned to the studio, and recorded "Nancy", which is available now. In July 2006, Laura Lost received a phone call from the Hew Stephens show, on Radio 1, saying they had been sent a demo, and really liked our song Graffiti, and they were honoured with their first Radio 1 airplay. With a growing fan base, and press attention, Laura Lost are looking forward to moving onwards and upwards in the music industry.
