About us

Something that started so small has now become our goal. Nothing can explain the passion and ideas that go into our music, we love every second of playing and we are now here, and ready to erupt.
Our band is so different as we write about real life situations, we like to make people think, then dance, then think again. We love the raving music of today that hits our ears and try to create a new type of image towards our teenage ravers. The whole band is ambitious and eager to show something of themselves, which is such an amazing atmosphere to work around as our ideas bounce of one another, challenging us each step of the way. Were not scared to slip up or try new things, like our first gig that we felt was our worst, with nerves flying and the unorganised structure of the gig, there was only room for improvement. We felt our favourite gig was Hertford corn exchange where john the manager said we were "the most exciting band he has seen in the last 5 years" and also Pondersend youth centre where the feedback we received was so inspiring for us and the atmosphere and amazing people we got to meet and work with made everything that much better.

We all meet in the strangest of ways. Emily and myself Danielle attended Bishop Stopford School in Enfield together since year 7 and started to find our interest in music towards the years of 8 and 9. We decided to start a band within school but found it wasn’t our scene as no one wanted to work to become good they just expected it, something that Emily and I new wasn’t realistic. Emily and I attended a house party a few weeks later bumping shoulders with are amazing little ravers Painter and Bahar. We met again at a gig a few weeks later and nothing has torn us apart since. Music ideas bounced from my head to Bahar’s and Painters drum beats and Emily's outrageous bass lines engulfed our riffs and the Kids UnCanny started to unfold.

We write all our songs and we can honestly say covers are not our scene. Our songs all contain meaningful stories that are hidden behind our lyrics. Surprise Sex is a good example of this as it represents the saying "There is no such thing as rape, just Surprise Sex". It is about a young girl going into a club, and finds the bouncer has a particular interest in her and tells her to enter through the back door. She then realises he wants far more then letting her in the secret way.

Within the band we have changed so much, we are so much more organised and feel like we have matured and achieved so much already as a band and within ourselves.

We can now say we feel stronger then ever!
