About us


Jutes are a brilliant new rock/indie band, fresh to the UK original music scene, whose subtle blend of stunning rock guitars, shimmering harmonies and driving rhythm make them one of today’s must-see live bands.

The foundation of what was to become Jutes was set somewhere in the misty haze of a Glastonbury Festival evening. A crowd of people gathered round a camp fire, some of them were old friends, some of them new and some of them were complete strangers. Among them sat Greg Holdsworth and Paul Warner, two guitarists who had never met and were completely unaware that the 'seeds of an innovative new rock band' were about to be sown. Introduced to each other after the festival by a mutual friend, Greg and Paul hit it off straight away and found that their music complemented each others perfectly. Greg’s rock influences and Paul’s laid back retro style fused to create an exciting new sound, set somewhere in the middle and they decided to form a band. Paul called his old buddy Rob Herrin, an outstanding bass player who, inspired by the work of James Jamerson and Paul McCartney (among others), added yet another dimension to the sound. Fast forward to 2006 at which time the boys brought in an old bandmate of Greg's, Pete Brooks. His solid drumming and natural feel immediately made him the lynchpin of the band, and he and Rob immediately locked together to form an awesome rhythm section. So the birth of Jutes was complete.

Take the solid grooves, the smooth bass tones and the unpredictable guitars of Greg and Paul – weave it all together, add Greg’s searing lead vocals and Paul and Rob’s delicately interwoven harmonies and you have Jutes.
