H Bird met when, quite independently of one another, each of the three members was attempting to steal the same spaceship to fly directly into the sun. For a moment, they decided to join force, though this rapidly degenerated into an argument over what would provide the soundtrack for their journey - Upstairs At Eric's, A Girl Called Dusty or Tiger Bay. Suddenly, in the midst of this, they heard the great engines and the opening chords of Duran Duran's Seven And The Ragged Tiger blare from behind them. Aug (guitars, keyboards) nodded his approval of the chosen record whilst, grand larceny thwarted, Kate (vocals) shrugged her shoulders and suggested they form a band instead. Ultimately, it was probably for the best - as Kasia (keyboards) has since been heard to comment, "It's a good excuse to drink lots of tea." H Bird write tales of sultry romance and harrowing heartache. They also like dressing up.
