About us

“Midlanders Guile probably don’t own a Radiohead record between them. Their Oasis meets Black Rebel and Jesus and Mary Chain wall of sound is simplicity itself.” – NME

“What Kasabian might have sounded like if they had collectively worshipped Spacemen 3 instead of Primal Scream.” – Drowned in Sound

"Snakes about with such casual f*&k you finesse as though it were the illegitimate offspring of a one night bunk up between the Velvets and Spacemen 3." – Loosing Today

Think of ‘The Doors’, The Velvet Underground’ and ‘Johnny Cash’ via ‘Nirvana’ and the ‘Jesus and Mary Chain’ and you’ve not only begun to capture the driving influences behind Guile, but their ability to create original and empowering music. The band have worked away tirelessly in their infamous lock up, perfecting their own unique brand of loud and proud rock n’ roll narkotika.

In early 2007, Guile went back into the studio of legendary producer Gavin Monaghan to record their current self-titled EP. Monaghan’s CV reads like a ‘Who’s Who’ of rock (The Twang, Editors, Jesus and Mary Chain, The Cure), and he has been a keen champion of Guile over the past few years.

April and May will see the band embark upon on a massive six-week tour calling into every corner of the UK, leaving behind a boom of awe and further predictions of their imminent rise to the top.

‘Rock n’ Roll’ is Guile’s third single, taken from their self-titled EP, and is released on Monday 28th May 2007.
