About us
Squadron Leader "The Big X" Bartlett began making music in Autumn 2006 on a dusty old piano hidden away at the back of the Officers Mess. He was captivated by the desire to make music encompasing life "far beyond the reaches of the darkened bunkers" where he lived and worked. He dreamed of love, serenity and escape. However, the beautiful songs he wrote were often overshadowed by wartime paranoia, loneliness and a resignation to worldwide armageddon and meltdown. These initial sketches have been used as a blueprint for Future Pilot where he and other Military colleagues would meet in secret to develop these ideas, often in the dead of night. Having now left the RAF Squadron Leader Bartlett has been recording with an energy that reflects his new found freedom. These are the debut Future Pilot recordings that were made using an old studio inside a disused Aircraft Hanger in Wiltshire.
