About us
Friday’s Ghost released their latest E.P. ‘The Exhalation League’ via iTunes on the 24th September.
Hailing from Leeds but based in Liverpool, Friday’s Ghost are a 5-piece comprising of guitars, synths, bass and drums as well as a plethora of alternative sounds. Their sound is dark, edgy and exciting with haunting vocals.
“One of the most exciting bands I’ve heard this year” Steve Lamacq, Radio 1
They have gigged extensively during the last 18 months, building a strong fan base, whilst continuing to develop and hone their sound and performance.
They released the “Work of the Invisible Hand” E.P. in late 2006 to rave reviews.
It soon won them the accolade of ‘Unsigned Band of the Week’ on XFM London.
The station and its listeners then picked the band to represent the best of the UK’s unsigned talent at a New York showcase, where they performed at the PS1 Gallery in Queens.
“I love this band” Sarah Darling, Xfm
Dr. Martens have used “Work of the Invisible Hand” in a nationwide promo campaign this summer. Radio 1’s Steve Lamacq chose the title track as his ‘Demo Of The Week’ and has continued to champion their music.
They have also been tipped as a band to watch on both BBC6 music and Gigwise.com, as well as being played regularly on BBC Radio Merseyside and have been invited to play at both ‘In the City’ and ‘Liverpool Music Week.’
“The band show real invention using their angular sounds to cast long shadows deep into the night” Leeds Music Scene
The new E.P. is available to order from the band’s Myspace or download via iTunes. The band are currently working on material to complete their first album.
