About us
Fool Am I are a Manchester band (dunno why it says london :p )
Fool Am I have a short, if not turbulent history. Started in the summer of 2006 by Peter, along with both Chris Curran and Jennifer Devereux in an attempt to get all of them back into playing music again, the Fool's started out with little idea of where it would all end up.
Although some early promising ideas were there, ultimately the sound was too varied between each of the songs (ranging from acoustic folk to hard-core metal) and before long Jen left us to pursue her own path
With the fortune of Mr Clydesdale moving into the same place as Peter and his own need to discover new sounds and styles, with the meeting of these two the Fool Am I as we know it was born.
With the inclusion of Tom and his unique vocal style, we were finally finding our feet sound-wise and the songs began to form a more fluid feeling between them
During the Fall of 2006 another change came to be, in Chris moving on to play with the band Boomjet (a must to check out - link here), although Chris has remained a shadowy 5th member of the Fool's troupe ever since.
This led to a brief period with Pete on drums (he plays on the demos for Process and Hot Summer), before finding our second drummer, Lil Tom Ovens. Lil Tom (not to be confused with Big Tom Humf) played with us for several months and for our first gig in the summer of 2007, before being head-hunted for the top band King Kayak and heading on for pastures new.
Now the fools are ready to unleash their sound on an unsuspecting public, and my word will they want to take a bath after listening to how dirty and heavy our material now is....
