About us

Empafy are an urban music crew born and bread in North Glasgow. Scotland's fastest rising indigenous hip-hop crew was originally formed as E.S.B, consisting of 4 16 year male emcees. Our understanding and passion for music has enhanced a million miles since our naive early attempts at emceeing in fake american accents.

Drawing inspiration from authentic U.K hip-hop acts such as Kano, So Solid Crew and Glasgow's very own Loki, our appreciation of musical integrity was established. Having

re-evaluated our style, we started channeling our own raw emotion and personal experience's into our music using our own accent. In doing so, musical differences within the band caused one emcee to walk out, leaving us with 3. As a hip-hop trio we realised our true passion and appreciation for music, whilst creating a vibe that gained recognition across the cities schools and housing schemes. In November 2005, we utilised the most powerful of all instruments (vocal) for the first time. 'Lemonescent' lead vocalist Sarah Cassidy teamed up with Jagwire, .D. and Louie on two tracks as part of E.S.B's first mixtape. 'Welcome To The Deadlife' and 'Skeme Life II' generated further sustained interest in E.S.B and provided the catalyst for a final reshape of the group. E.S.B featuring Sarah Cassidy became EMPAFY in early 2006. Our short term aims include wanting people not only to listen to our music, but understand it and appreciate the realism. We are currently recording our own album and hope to have it completed by the end of the year. Check out myspace.com/empafyesb for dates, times and further details of forthcoming events. Empafy are a four piece Authentic Urban Music crew from Glasgow. Our music (as with all authentic/original hip-hop) was best described "as the closest thing there is to musical poetry"
In January 2006 Empafy turned our full attention to music, and became full time musicians. Since then we have been gigging and working tirelessly on our debut album. (completed later in the year)
